In our first year of existence, The Imagination Lab has been fortunate to work extensively under multiple NDA agreements, partnering on projects that required discretion, innovation, and trust. While this means we’re limited in what we can publicly showcase, it reflects the confidence our collaborators have placed in our creative and strategic capabilities. Much of our most exciting work remains behind the scenes, shaping brands, environments, and experiences that are still in development or launch phases. With over 20 years in the costume industry, Doug Stewart brings seasoned leadership and deep technical mastery to The Imagination Lab. As a specialty costume and textile artist, Doug understands every layer of the process—from concept and material development to fabrication, finishing, and final presentation. His experience goes beyond craftsmanship he knows how to build and guide high-performing teams, align creative vision with production realities, and push projects to their highest standard. Having led complex builds under demanding timelines and exacting expectations, Doug combines artistic precision with strategic direction—ensuring not only that a costume is beautifully made, but that the team behind it delivers its absolute best work.
Doug Stewart: Crafting Creatures & Costumes Since 1990
Over the next 35 years, Doug became known as an “out-of-the-box” designer and creator—someone who rarely feels the need to reinvent the wheel, but knows how to find a new idea spinning within it. Every sketch, experiment, and project became a lesson, and every job thereafter added layers of growth and expertise. His professional career officially took off in 1990 on the feature film Addams Family, followed by Mom & Dad Save the World, where his curiosity and hands-on learning met the demands of real production.
